Cordelia Lawler

Cordelia is a London-born cinematographer and photographer, and a graduate of the National Film and Television School’s prestigious Cinematography MA, where she was sponsored by BAFTA. With a background that includes working as a full-time camera trainee on major HETV productions like The Crown and later assisting acclaimed cinematographer Dan Laustsen ASC, DFF on Apple’s The Gorge, she now works full-time as a freelance Director of Photography across short films, commercials, and music videos. A member of the female cinematography collective Illuminatrix Rising, Cordelia is comfortable working across both film and digital formats—whether self-shooting or leading a full crew. Her visual style leans into bold colour, striking composition, and dreamy textures, often favouring the unique feel of shooting on film. Fluent in French and proficient in Japanese, she brings a thoughtful, collaborative approach to every project, with recent work premiering at the BFI London Film Festival.
